For over 75 years, Aberdeen Angus have been an integral part of the Chatsworth operation. Initially starting as a small herd to supplement our dominant sheep enterprise, today our cattle program has grown significantly, with over 400 breeders now part of our self-operating operation.

Our females are top quality mothers and are treated as such. Many continue in our breeding program until over 10 years of age, proving their value and longevity.

Selecting the right bulls is crucial to the success of our beef program. We source all our bulls from the best Angus studs, prioritising those with proven performance records in calving ease and post weaning weight gain.

The result is a magnificent, balanced her of top producing cows, breeding steers ,for beef markets and heifers for self replacement and sale to other breeders.

To continue to support the growth of our cattle program, a state-of-the-art cattle and sheep complex was completed in 2024. This modern facility offers more options to safely handle all cattle across Chatsworth, ensuring efficient management of all livestock.
