For 170 years Chatsworth has provided a magnificent breeding ground for livestock.
Since the mid-1800’s, Chatsworth has been situated in the rolling hills of the Southern Tablelands, straddling the meandering Crookwell River, and has served as a thriving nursery for British breed and merino lambs, calves, thoroughbreds and even Clydesdale draught horses in the 1870s.
Today, our family owned and operated enterprise proudly continues the tradition of producing top-quality livestock. Repeat buyers return year after year for our prime suckers and weaned lambs, first cross ewes, fine black weaner steers and heifers, feedlot steers and long lines of clean, bright wool.
Chatsworth Pastoral uses a combination of livestock marketing methods, depending on the season and relative market strengths. Our sales typically begin in late spring and continue into early winter when the last of our sale livestock are in finished condition. We sell both sheep and cattle directly to private buyers at spot prices and on a contract basis out of the paddock, or through physical selling centres and online auction channels, catering to both meat buyers and re-stockers when price and weight conditions allow.
With a passion for agriculture, we continue to refine and improve through innovation and contemporary production practices to achieve high quality produce each and every year. Chatsworth is well equipped to handle volumes of cattle and sheep in our operation, aided by the addition of a state-of-the-art combined cattle and sheep yards complex completed in 2024.
Our goal is simple: to remain a consistent supplier of premium quality produce, and we are dedicated to continuing our important role in Australia’s food and fibre production for many years to come.
